BEST. 7. MONTHS. EVER!

Our Monthly Outtakes...

Ethan at 7 Months...

* Crawling EVERYWHERE and getting into EVERYTHING...he is almost crawling with the belly off the ground the entire time but goes between that and army crawling.  It's really however he can get somewhere the quickest he can (which is usually to the baby gate to try to knock it over, the door stop, the radio/ipod dock...which he has set the alarm for 11:55 everyday...not sure how he did it or how to turn it off)  I usually spend most of my day picking him up and turning him around to get him distracted and away from where he isn't supposed to be.  Oh the life with mobile children!

* Can pull himself up on low things...my legs, brother, the diaper box.  He can get himself up to peek over the ottoman in the boys' room but has only figured out how to get to his knees and not his feet yet.  Hasn't figured out how to pull himself up in his crib yet...so we are safe for a little while.  I'm sure now that I say that we will be lowering the crib in the not too distant future.  UPDATE: In the few days it has taken me to write this post, Ethan figured out how to pull himself up and stand in his crib!  Seriously!!  I should know better than to put anything in writing.  I mean really...if I said he wasn't walking yet do you think he would start walking?? He is not consistently standing up but it is only a matter of time.

* Gets four bottles a day (usually 7:30, 11:30, 3:30 and 7:00) and is drinking about 28 ounces total.

* LOVES to eat...anything and everything...is certainly not picky at all.  He loves fruit.  We have tried apples, bananas, pears, peaches, blueberries, and mangos.  Of all the veggies he likes green beans, sweet potatoes and peas...he has had a reaction to carrots every time he has eaten them so we don't do them anymore, squash isn't a fav, and we tried avocado which I think the texture was kind of different for him and he wasn't sure about it.  Eats twice a day and we are fixing to go to three times a day fairly soon.

* Started doing puffs and cheerios this month and he really likes them...can't quite figure out how to get them in his mouth on his own yet but we are getting there.  They usually end up somewhere on his face, in his lap, in pieces in his hand, or on the floor...which makes a nice treat for the dogs.

* Ever since figuring out how to sit it is all he wants to do.  When I put him in his crib to go to sleep the first thing he does is sit up and watch me leave the room.  Can go from crawling to sitting and sitting to crawling which makes life lots of fun for him...he is so proud of himself and all he can do.

* Has his two bottom teeth.

* LOVES Evan!  It is seriously the cutest thing seeing them interact with each other, laughing and talking.  Usually Evan gets a little overwhelmed with Ethan all over him.

* Weighs about 18 pounds, so even though he still spits up a crazy amount of food he is gaining weight. To me he actually has started to feel heavier when I hold him, which is a definite new thing because he has always been light as a feather.

* Knows his name and pretty much responds every time you say it.  I am pretty sure he knows what I am talking about when I ask him "where are the puppies?"  He usually will look for them.  Knowing who each one is is a completely different story...getting all four straightened out will probably take a while.  Knows what it means when I say "shake it, shake it" and will shake the toy he has in his hands.

* Has finally made it to size 3 diapers.

* Gets mad now when I take something away from him or move him from where he shouldn't be.

* Hasn't grown enough in the last month to really change the size of clothes he is in...still 6-9 months for most of his stuff and a few 12 mo. stuff thrown in here and there.

* Definitely lets you know what he wants and is VERY VOCAL about it.

* Takes two naps a day but is a better morning sleeper than afternoon.

* Such a silly, goofy baby...loves to play, have fun and be entertained.  Thinks peek-a-boo is the funniest thing ever.

Evan at 7 Months...

* Has figured out how to normal crawl, belly off the floor and all.  He will stop every once in a while to push off the ground and stand on his tip toes...the best way to describe what it looks like (until I can get a good picture) is "Downward Dog."  Seriously looks better than when his mama does it...all my yoga friends would be so proud.  He gets places much faster now (and goes from sitting to crawling and crawling to sitting) which definitely keeps me on my toes.

* Just like brother he is into EVERYTHING and of course the fun stuff is everything he shouldn't be playing with.  One of his favorites (besides my phone) are my shoes when I have taken them off and left them on the floor.  Don't quite get the fascination but it is just super gross seeing him grab them and put them in his mouth.

* He has always known he has feet and would play with them while sitting up or grab on to Ethan's but would never grab them when on his back.  Now all of a sudden at 7 months he has decided it is the cool thing to do and grabs them ALL OF THE TIME...while I'm changing his diaper, while he is playing, while in his car seat.

* Can somewhat pull himself up but only gets to his knees...hasn't figured out standing yet.

* Just like Ethan he has a bottle four times a day getting 28 ounces total.  The only difference between the two is that Evan will not finish if he is full or doesn't want anymore...Ethan wants every last drop no matter what.

* Likes to eat but doesn't get as excited about it as Ethan.  It might just be his more laid back personality. Loves fruit, doesn't exactly like oatmeal (will tolerate it if I have something mixed in) and could take or leave the veggies.  I could not get enough fruit while pregnant and hated eating vegetables so maybe that has transferred to them somehow.  He could eat bananas all day long.  Of the veggies, he is eating the green beans, sweet potatoes and peas just like Ethan.  He also doesn't love the squash and isn't eating carrots.  He never had a reaction like Ethan did but it is much easier when you are buying for and feeding two to do the same thing.  Avocado he spit back out...breaks a mama's heart!

* Likes his puffs and cheerios but always has such a funny look on his face when he first gets one in his mouth.  It's as if it is brand new every time and he has to figure it all out.  Has trouble just like brother getting them into his mouth.  He can get them in his fist but that is about it for now.

* Has his two bottom teeth.

* Still in size 3 diapers but I'm sure we'll be moving up a size soon because they are getting a little tight.

* Usually very quite and observant he has become much more vocal.  He screams at the top of his lungs with such intention...squeezing his hands and getting red in the face as if he was pushing his voice out.  Crying is not ever his problem in restaurants it is usually that he wants to make all kinds of noise talking.

* Gets SUPER MAD if I take something away from him that he wants.  Even though Ethan is the cranky one and pretty much voices his opinion all of the time he doesn't hold a candle to Evan when I take something from him.  It's not just mad, it's world coming to an end mad.

* Weighs about 20 pounds.  Carrying him gives my arms a great workout.  His clothes size hasn't changed and he is still in 6-9 month stuff and some 12 month.  It's just a little tighter on him than Ethan.

* Knows his name and responds most of the time...if he is watching the dogs or deeply engrossed in playing then forget it.  Also knows what it means when I say "shake it, shake it" and loves to shake his toys.

* Loves to make noise with all of his toys.  He bangs them against each other, on the table, in his high chair.

*Like his brother he sleeps much better in the morning than in the afternoon.

* Such a happy go lucky child.  Not a whole lot bothers him and he finds the most random things funny...Velcro, lifting and dropping his mattress while changing his crib sheet...cracks me up that he finds  such joy in some of the simplest things.
