DEAR BABY BATHTUB...

We would like to thank you for the last 8 1/2 months...

You were there for us when we were itty bitty babies.  When taking a bath and getting in water was scary and unknown.  We hated you at first and screamed and screamed to let our mama know how unhappy we were...

BUT...we soon realized you weren't that bad.  The water was awesome, the bubbles were great and bath time became fun.  You helped us realize it wasn't so scary after all.

We love you baby bathtub but we have a little problem.  We are getting big and growing up...we are too big for you now.  Mama doesn't like getting soaking wet every time we take a bath and she REALLY doesn't like having to clean the walls, floor, door, mirror, etc. every time too.  PLUS...we need more room.  More room to move around and splash and more room for our toys...and MOST IMPORTANTLY...we want to take a bath and play TOGETHER!!

So baby bathtub...we say adios, see ya later, farewell, have a nice day and good bye because...we are BIG BOYS and we will be taking BIG BOY BATHS from now on!

PAR-TAY IN MY CRIB

A little Evan story for you...not that it is even blog worthy, but I want to remember it someday...

Evan's newest form of excitement and fascination is taking off his pajama pants once he gets in his crib to go to sleep.  This is fine...totally no big deal.  If he sleeps in just his diaper and shirt because he thinks it is fun to take off his pants, whatever...I'm not going to stop him.

The only problem I have with it is on mornings like today.  I walked in to the boys' room to find him standing there with poop going down his leg and all over one side of his sheet.  At first I thought oh no he's getting sick again (the stomach bug is going around) and his gross diaper got all over the crib.  Then I realized after looking a little closer...not only does he think it is fun to take off his pajama pants but he has figured out how to take his diaper off as well!  He was standing there with half his diaper undone and hanging off of him!  Oh what fun first thing in the morning...and it didn't even seem to bother him at all.  At least it wasn't all over the walls and the rest of his body, right?  What can I do but just laugh and enjoy this age where even learning how to take off a diaper is new and exciting.

Didn't think anyone wanted to see pictures from this morning so I will leave you with a few clean pictures of the little one in his crib...

Gotta love his gorgeous baby blues!

FEEDING FUN!

So...I have been a little M.I.A. from the blog but I have a few posts tonight to make up for it.  During my free time (all 2 minutes of it) I have been working on the boys' first year photo book and it has been somewhat addicting.  I am mostly caught up now so I can join the rest of the world, do some blogging (and maybe also clean or do some laundry).

I snapped a few pics of the boys after breakfast one morning this last week.  They got to play while mama cleaned some dishes...

It just doesn't get any better than eatin' time at the Burchfield house!

COUSINS

Just a few pictures of the four cousins from when we visited my brother and Kristi last weekend...

Poor Caden wanted NOTHING to do with picture taking.

Playing with (or I should say eating) puzzles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIAM AND CULLEN!

Our friends Liam and Cullen turned one on Saturday...love these precious babies and know I will love watching all four boys grow up together!  Happy First Birthday friends!  We loved getting to celebrate with you!

{EMBRACE} THE CAMERA

I can't believe it's Thursday already...where does the time go??

Reason #1 why my parents need to move to Waco...my dad can be around to take more pictures of the babies.  Embrace the Camera is a whole lot easier when someone else is behind the lens!

The picture is not particularly lovely of me (which actually had to be photoshopped...horrible thinning hair from the babies. BOO!)...but it is what it is...I love Ethan's expression enough to still post it.  Could his little dimples be any cuter?!?

OUR LITTLE GRADUATE

I meant to post this last Wednesday but with my parents here I just haven't gotten around to it.  As of July 7th Ethan no longer has to wear his DOC Band!!  He is an official graduate.  He has actually outgrown it and is borderline for needing another one and we haven't decided yet if we will do it.  For now though he gets to enjoy the summer heat helmet free, which I am very happy about.  It was getting gross nasty smelling (you can see the sweat stains in the pic below).  The cleaning once a day with rubbing alcohol didn't help too much.

Can you tell we might just be a little happy!

Another toy perhaps??

The funniest thing about the whole DOC Band experience...Ethan's "head on a stick."  They made an actual mold of his head and used it to compare his head shape at office visits.  It just made me laugh every time we went to an appointment and they came to get us with his head in hand.  I didn't think we would get to keep it and was quite excited when they handed it to us on Wednesday...not that it is of any use to us but I think it is kind of fun to have!

Leave it to Ethan to actually find a use for it...if you give him something for long enough it will always end up in his mouth!

HAPPY EIGHT MONTHS!

I am pretty sure this is the first time I have posted an update on the boys' actual birthday!  Oh my heavens they are getting so big.  My dad took this picture today...it's becoming more and more difficult as they get older to get a cute picture of them looking at the camera.  We tried multiple places...the front porch (all they wanted to do was play with the bricks and attempt to get down the steps), the couch (all over the place and sinking into the cushions), and the chair in our family room.  This was the best we could get in the midst of trying to keep them both from crawling over the side or going face first off the front.  I thought about making them a sign to hold...I have seen many friends do this and think it is really cute...but getting them both looking picture perfect was all we could handle.

Since I did a really long update for 7 months and it was just 2 weeks ago (since I posted late) there hasn't been much of a change since then.  Food, diaper and clothes size, schedules...all are pretty much the same. The only new things going on...

* Ethan has gone from two teeth to six.  All four of his top front teeth have broken through.

* Evan has figured out how to clap, which is quite hilarious because he kind of looks like a seal...can't quite get the hang of getting both palms together.  He has also started to figure out how to wave bye-bye but doesn't do it all of the time.

So, that's pretty much it for eight months.  Not a whole lot new...just growing and getting bigger day by day!

{EMBRACE} THE CAMERA

It has been a few weeks since I have participated in Embrace the Camera Thursdays and I am a little late with this one but thought I would still join in.  Today I thought I would include a few pictures with Jeff instead of me...

Watching TV (one of the only times Ethan is ever still)...we're starting them young!

Go here to check out all of the others who have joined in or better yet go embrace the camera yourself...you can never have too many pictures of you with your kiddos!

AND...How do you like the new look?  I thought it was time for a change.  I had enough of the pink and wanted something a little more simple.  Designer Blogs (link on the right) did a GREAT job.  If you are looking for a makeover go check them out!

JUST BECAUSE

Not a whole lot going on and not much to post about but it made me sad to open up my blog and the first thing to see was the babies' sad sickly faces.  So...here is a picture from last week of Evan standing in his crib...much more fun to look at.  We are all doing much better, PTL because I don't know how many more nasty diapers this mama could take!  My parents are visiting for a few weeks so there should be lots more fun pics to come!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

This is how we spent this morning...

The stomach bug has hit our house and these two poor pitiful babies are spending their first Fourth of July feeling yucky!  So...no church this morning, no fireworks, no cooking out...just hanging out around the house trying to feel better.  You know they don't feel good when all they want to do is lay on the floor right after getting up.  Picture below...a case in point of how we are both sick...

Is it expecting too much if I think he should be able to read the names on the pacis and get the right one in his mouth?!?  :)

Happy Fourth of July from our sickly house to yours!
