How Old Are You???

While Mama Cooks...

...the two brothers pretty much tear the kitchen apart.  Usually by dinner time there are pans, cookbooks, toys, tupperware, etc. all over.

Tonight I couldn't help but think of the lyrics to one of my favorite songs while making dinner...

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this.

I most definitely know that one day I am going to miss my kitchen being a disaster while I make dinner.  I will miss little arms hugging my legs, kiddos wanting to be held to see what I am making, Ethan always wanting to eat everything while I'm making it, Evan collecting all of the pans and storing them under the high chairs, kids chasing dogs and dogs chasing kids...100% certain it's chaos I'm going to miss!

The Mayborn Museum

One of my favorite places to visit in Waco is the Mayborn Museum...so many cool rooms and things to do.  I think even if I didn't have kids I would still like to go.  Jeff took a few days off last week and we took Ethan and Evan for the first time {technically it was their second time but last summer when we went with family they were babies and could have cared less}.  They had a blast playing and looking at everything.  We got a family pass for the year and I am pretty sure we will be going quite often.  Here are a few pictures from our trip...

Looking at all of the trains, or "cars" as Ethan called them.

So excited to see the bunny.

Snake

Turtles

Fish

Doing some climbing...

Playing with trains.

Getting pushed around by daddy on the car.

Climbing around in the bus, fire truck, and car.

Can you just picture them 14 1/2 years from now in a real car?  Not this mama.

Shootin' some hoops...

...and pushing the lawnmower.

Playing some piano.

Blowing bubbles with daddy.

Having fun with ducks and boats in the water.

We had such a fun day last Thursday and even went again on Friday with our friends Liam and Cullen.  Can't wait till we get to go again!!

Thoughts on Mother's Day

Don't you just love this picture?!?  Awesome right?  My only one from mother's day and I actually think it is quite hilarious.  Ethan thinking "really...you want me to smile...yeah right" and then you have Evan doing everything he can to try and escape.  Such is life...at least I got a picture...a rarity since I'm always the one behind the lens.

For a few years mother's day was not the most favorite day of the year for me.  It was sad and always had me wondering if I would ever get to celebrate the day as a mother.  I mostly felt sorry for myself and envied the moms around me.  Infertility was the hardest thing I have ever been through and it makes every mother's day going forward that much more special.  Knowing how much God has blessed us with Ethan and Evan when He didn't have to.  Being a mom was most certainly nothing I deserved but by God's grace someone I was allowed to be.  It amazes me everyday how perfect His plan was...they were born not a day to soon nor a day too late...I wouldn't have it any other way {3 years of pain, struggling and all}.  They are beautiful miracles and I love getting to be their mommy.  I don't take a single day for granted and pray everyday for girls that I know {and don't know} who are going through the same struggles we did.

I may have snot on my clothes, have to share my food, change stinky diapers, listen to tantrums, and might not get as much sleep...but I'll take it any day if it means I get to have the daily hugs, lots of kisses, and hear the word "mama."  After three years of crying and pain it is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE WORD EVER!

A Little Bit of YouTube...

How does a mama of two {almost} 18 month old twins attempt the impossible diaper change?

The diaper change with flailing arms and legs, arched backs, and screaming...because how dare I interrupt their playtime?!?

With a little bit of YouTube on my iPhone.

{Evan watching the Seven Dwarfs wash their faces}

Seriously how did anyone ever make it before the iPhone?  BEST. INVENTION. EVER!
