First Day of School

Today is the first time in seven years that I am not taking part in the first day of school. Several of the parents asked me at the end of last year if I was going to miss teaching. I said it wouldn't hit me until the first day of school...and I was right. It is so strange to drive past my school and see all the cars parked outside, knowing I am not a part of all the beginning of the year excitement. I miss getting my classroom ready, seeing all of the teachers after the summer break, and preparing to meet a whole new crew of 5 year olds. I am probably going to substitute some which will allow me a chance to see some of my little ones from the past few years!

Here is a picture of my kindergarteners from last year, who are officially big first graders today!

Carson Christopher Cooley

Our precious nephew was born yesterday at 5:39 p.m. Jeff and I made it to Dallas just in time to see Carson being brought into the nursery. Here are a couple of pictures. I have a bunch more on our website for everyone to see. Congratulations Matt and Kristi...we love you and are so excited for you!
