My First Motherly Gift

Jeff took me shopping for Mother's Day in hopes of finding my first "motherly" item. My belly is not quite pooching enough yet to start buying a bunch of clothes and since we don't know if it's boys or girls yet, it makes it hard to buy anything truly baby. I did see some shoes I liked (surprise, surprise) and mothers do wear shoes...an argument that went nowhere with Jeff.

While shopping I found two diaper bags that I absolutely love. Even though I like all the the cutesy gender specific bags out there, I knew I would probably go neutral. Call me crazy, silly, a little ridiculous, but if I am the one carrying the bag I want it to match what I am wearing. So...I got one bag for when I am wearing black stuff and one for when I'm not. Both of the insides match the changing pads sitting in front of the bags, have lots of compartments, places for bottles, etc. And, both will work whether we have boys or girls...

Ultrasound Pics

I finally have our ultrasound pics scanned in...

9 week ultrasound pic

The next two are from our ultrasound last Thursday (11 weeks). Everything looked great. We could see their legs, arms, hands and feet. Both were moving all around, legs bending and kicking...by far the coolest thing I've ever seen...such a miracle! The second picture seems a little smaller because that baby is positioned a little further away and my doctor had to zoom back out to get a better view.

Baby A at 11 weeks

Baby B at 11 weeks

We will go again to the doctor on June 3rd. We get to hear the heartbeats then, which we haven't heard yet...so excited!

May Happenings

Long time no post...I'd say I've been busy but that wouldn't really be true. Except for a few days teaching here and there I've been doing nothing but sleeping and trying not to throw up. Days have been much better than nights...it really shouldn't be called "morning sickness." The dogs have enjoyed it because we just lay around together being lazy all day. Not that I am complaining though...after three years I am definitely so so thankful for the reason I don't feel that great.

Below are a few pictures of what we have been up to lately...

We watched our friend's dogs for a weekend a few weeks ago and our bedroom looked like a doggy day care. Our dogs get bones but not toys because they are destroyed in a matter of minutes. Imagine the pure heaven our four were in when the basket of toys arrived with the dogs.

Moose and Dash played and fought over toys all weekend.

We have also been doing a little decorating. After 2 1/2 years in our house, we finally hung the picture over our fireplace. I then needed something for the bare mantle and got these candlesticks at a store in Salado called Horsefeathers. I LOVE this store...so much like Spice here in Waco but cheaper.

New candles for the dining room table.

New lamps for the buffet in the dining room.

All I need to add is the runner (which is linen and never seems completely ironed) and curtains.

Several girls at our church are having babies this summer. We had a shower last Monday for Carly (third from the left) who is having a boy in June and a shower last night for Shana (second from the right) who is also having a boy in July. Meg (first on the left) is having twin boys this summer as well. My mom is hoping that I break the trend of all boys and one of our two is pink!

Our house won Yard of the Month for our neighborhood for May. This lovely sign now sits in our yard bringing along with it the added pressure of keeping our yard looking perfect.

And lastly...to my family's great pleasure, we are no longer taking our trip to Mexico. Everything probably would have been OK, but we are still not going. Instead we are staying in Texas and going to Horseshoe Bay Resort. I am quite excited to still be getting to go somewhere to relax by the pool, go to the spa, play putt putt, etc. We may take a day trip to Fredricksburg, which is somewhere I've always wanted to go. It's going to be such a great way to end our May.
