WOMEN'S RETREAT

Last weekend I went on a women's retreat with our church to San Antonio.  It was awesome and a great time away getting to fellowship with so many wonderful ladies.  I have to say that I love everything about living in Waco {OK, maybe not the weather} but by far I love our church the most and the people we have become friends with through going there {something we didn't have in Houston}.

This was my first time away from the boys since they were born...crazy that it took me 15 months.  I was sad to leave them but at the same time was glad to have a little time without having to worry about diapers, snot on my clothes, feeding children while trying to eat my own food, having an audience while going to the bathroom, etc.  It was quite weird to get up on Saturday morning and only get myself ready.

Our group in front of the bus Friday night...in our super cute matching t-shirts.

Our speaker for Friday night and Saturday morning was Priscilla Shirer and she was awesome and HILARIOUS!  You are definitely in for a treat if you get to hear her speak.  Her brother, Anthony Evans, led the worship.  God definitely used her to speak to me as I know He did with so many of the women there.

My roomies for the weekend...Meg, Chelsea, and Teresa.

Emily and Carly

Vanessa, Melanie {Big Mama}, Meg, and Me

One of my favorite parts about the weekend was getting to meet Big Mama...a blogger who I have been reading for a while now.  Vanessa spotted her first on Friday night but we were holding up the bus and had to wait until Saturday to take a picture with her.  She was so nice...it just makes me love reading her blog even more now.

On the way back to Waco our bus stopped at the outlet mall in San Marcos so we could do a little shopping...and boy howdy did we do some shopping.  I didn't get anything for myself {story of my life these days} but got stocked up on a bunch of super cute spring/summer clothes for the boys.  They were in desperate need of new shoes and I found a couple pairs that are so adorable...although there were probably about 5 other pairs I wanted to get.  Who knew it would be just as fun to go shoe shopping for Ethan and Evan as it is for my shoes.

My three guys had a busy weekend as well.  My version of watching the boys when Jeff has been gone was to stock up the house with all that we needed so I didn't have to get out and cart the two boys and all their stuff with me.  Jeff is much better about going out with the two of them than me...he had them at work on Friday, went with Cathy and Trey to Athens {2 hours away} on Friday night to watch a basketball game, and went to McAlister's with the boys for lunch on Saturday.  It just makes me tired thinking about their busy "guys" weekend.

I loved my relaxing girls weekend away...it was definitely much needed.  Can't wait until next year!
