Fall is my absolute FAVORITE time of year...I survive through our hot Texas summers because I know that on the other side is fall...apple pie, football, pumpkins, yummy fall Starbucks drinks, leaves changing color, cooler weather, trick-or-treating...I could go on and on and on! It's this time of year that makes me want to pack up and move to a small country town {think Hoosiers or Baby Boom...perfect for fall}.
I hope the E's love this time of year as much as I do and when they get older have awesome memories from the fun things we did. One of my favorites {and hopefully soon to be theirs} is picking out the perfect pumpkins for our porch and for our jack-o-lantern. We took them last night to our local pumpkin patch {or "punkee" as we call them around here} which did not disappoint...thousands and thousands of pumpkins lay there on the hill waiting to be picked.
We wore our super cool, glow-in-the dark, jack-o-lantern t-shirts...what doesn't say pumpkin patch more than crazy jack-o-lantern t-shirts!
The boys were in awe...we have been reading lots of books on pumpkins this week and it was so fun to see them in person.
They touched the pumpkins, tried to stand on them, sat on the big ones, and ran and ran through the sea of orange.
I loved all of the different looking pumpkins...white and orange ones, gray ones, plain white ones, and even a pale pink one.
The little baby pumpkins...so, so cute. Ethan and Evan had to be reminded that they were not balls to throw.
One of my favorites.
A pumpkin bigger than the boys.
Sadly, Mama forgot her checkbook at home and we only had $5 on us so the boys only got a little pumpkin to take with them last night. We will be going back this weekend for some more "punkee" fun and to pick out our BIG pumpkins.
