My sister-in-law, Kristi, tagged me awhile ago to write 8 interesting things about myself. When I came up with my "me" list, I thought of more than 8...not that I think I'm that interesting, but there is more to me than 8 things. Here is my entire list of random "me" things...
I turned 30 this year. Most people think I look 18 (I got carded going to the movies while in college and last year got carded buying a lottery ticket). It doesn't help that I live in a college town and wear Baylor t-shirts.
I was born on Easter.
I have one younger brother.
I lived in Encinitas (San Diego) California the first 18 years of my life.
I went to the same private, Christian school K-12th grade, all on the same campus.
I graduated from high school with 40 people...6, including me, went to Baylor. I was also salutatorian of my graduating class.
I love the beach and miss being able to drive by it everyday.
My two favorite eateries I have to have when I go home: Rubio's Fish Tacos and In-N-Out Burgers.
My favorite color is red. My favorite color to wear is black.
Growing up the last 4 digits of my phone number were 7276...the same as Jeff's birthday. A little eerie!
I like to eat...at our house we are always talking at lunch about what we are having for dinner. Some of my favorite restaurants: Irma's, Morton's, America's, Mark's, Maggiano's and Chick-Fil-A for fast food.
I don't like ice cream or most sweets. I would rather eat cheese or have a salty snack. The only dessert I really like is anything with chocolate.
Places I have traveled: Kauai/Oahu/Hawaii, Jamaica, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Places I would like to travel: Italy, London, St. John, Geece, and the east coast during the fall.
I was an early childhood major at Baylor.
I taught kindergarten for 7 years before taking this year off. Other professions I think I would like: Architect or Photographer.
I lived on the 5th floor of Collins Hall during my freshman year at Baylor. I hate elevators so it made for lots of exercise.
I broke my right arm in the 6th grade.
I never did any sports growing up. I tried softball for one day and hated it.
I was a cheerleader all four years of high school.
I hate balloons. The squeaky sound from your fingers touching balloons drives me nuts...I go running the other way when I see those annoying balloon people at restaurants who go around making animals for the children.
I also hate clowns...they just freak me out, I'm not sure why.
Jeff and I have been married for 6 years. Our children are our three dogs.
I grew up with one cat, but now prefer dogs. I now seem to be allergic to cats when I go home or to Jeff's parents' house. I also think there is no better dog than a rescue dog.
Places I have lived: Encinitas, California/Houston, Texas/Waco, Texas
I'm still a Chargers fan, but root for the Astors (you pretty much have to in our house).
I love a clean house, but hate to clean. My life is pretty much ruled by dog hair...I am constantly vacuuming it up.
I have naturally curly hair, which I straighten everyday (my hair did not like living in Houston). I had bangs until my junior year in college (I still have nightmares about bangs that never grow out), and I have never colored or highlighted it.
I can't go too long without a Sonic Cherry Limeade or a Starbuck's White Chocolate Mocha.
Some of my favorite movies: It's a Wonderful Life, The Notebook, Sweet Home Alabama, You've Got Mail, Hoosiers, and the Bourne Trilogy
Some of my favorite TV shows: CSI (the original one), Lost, 24, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, Friday Night Lights and anything reality based...thank goodness we have DVR
Even though I don't do it that often, I love to cook, and am obssessed with cookbooks.
A few things I would like to do before I die: Learn how to play the piano, sky dive, and run a marathon.
That's me in a nutshell. As unexciting as it has been, I love my life!
