NCAA Tournament

Thanks to our Baylor Bears we spent Easter weekend in Washington D.C. this year. We had an awesome time, even though Baylor lost. Jeff had been once to D.C. on business, but I had never been. I love history, so I was beyond excited to see as much as I could in the four short days we were there.

We toured the capitol building and went on a monument bus tour, ate in Georgetown on the Potomac River, toured the Holocaust Museum, visited Arlington National Cemetary and walked around Old Town Alexandria. By the end of the four days my legs had never hurt so bad...Vegas walking is nothing compared to D.C. I was ready to come home on Sunday, but amazingly still didn't see everything I wanted to see.

We found a yummy hamburger place to eat there called Five Guys Hamburgers. I hate to admit it, but it might just be better than my favorite In-N-Out. We also ate fabulous ice cream at Gifford's. Jeff, being a true Texan, will argue till the day he dies that Blue Bell is better, but Gifford's had the best ice cream I've ever tasted. I'm not even a huge fan of ice cream, but ended up having it twice.

Here are a few pictures from this weekend. I have a bunch more on our website for all to see...

Smiling at halftime...hopeful that we would come back and win.

The girls at Arlington National Cemetary...love the Cherry Blossoms.

The Changing of the Gaurd at the Tomb of the Unkown Soldier...by far the coolest thing I saw all weekend.

Funny Story...The Holocaust Museum has a few video rooms, one in particular about the rise of Hitler. We were waiting outside the entrance to this one when the group before us started coming out. A little boy, probably not much older than five, was walking out with his mom. With the most serious face, he looked at her and asked "Mom is Satan American?" She replied "No." He paused a second, and then asked "Is he German?" Nothing like a child to lighten the mood!

I figured you guys were going to the game! What a bummer.

Matthew wanted to go SO badly! He still talks about that trip like it was yesterday.
