IKE

Good ole' Ike has come and gone. We had rain and lots of wind, but today it couldn't be any more beautiful. The sky is clear, the sun is out...the weather is perfect. Ike also brought Jeff's parents to town. By Saturday morning they had no power, so they packed up their fridge and freezer and headed to Waco. Jeff's mom is still hanging with us, but his dad is back in Houston taking care of their horses and checking on the rest of the family who are all sticking it out with no power. When we lived in Houston, Jeff and I were 20 minutes south of downtown. I am so glad we are now in Waco. In the three years we lived there I don't think I ever experienced a hurricane. It's crazy seeing everything after Ike. The freeway that got us into downtown was flooded, Brennan's (awesome restaurant) burned down, Jeff's cousin had a pine tree fall down in their backyard (luckily away from the house). We have so many friends and family in Houston and are so thankful that everyone is ok...minus the power of course.

The dogs were a little more than excited to have visitors. Are they spoiled or what? It all started with my mom when my parents were here in July. Sawyer was a little bit smaller and my mom would hold him in her lap on the couch...he now thinks this is the norm. Of course it also doesn't help that Jeff's dad encourages the behavior. What a life they live...
