Two months...my babies are getting so old! It really is amazing to me how much they have grown. They are changing so much EVERY DAY...oh how I wish time had a pause button. The pictures above and below are the two best I could get of the boys. When they aren't sitting up on their own it makes picture taking a little difficult. I could do a whole post of silly pictures with the boys looking in different directions and falling over...
We had the boys' two month appointment on the 13th and we survived, shots and all...and when I say "we" I really mean "me." I have decided there is nothing worse than holding your child down while someone pokes him 5 times with a needle. It just broke my heart to see them both happy, sucking on their pacifiers one second and then screaming, bright red, and eyes almost popping out because they were in pain and didn't know what was going on. They were both troopers though...cried for a few minutes and then fell asleep once we got them back in their car seats. Jeff happened to be out of town on business that day, so instead of trying to reschedule and get in a few weeks later, we kept the appointment and Cathy went with me to help...praise the Lord for awesome friends because I couldn't have gone without her. Here are a few more pic of the boys and then individual updates of each are below...

LOVE this picture...Ethan has just discovered his hands and looking at them is ALL he wants to do. He wasn't very interested in the fact that I was trying to get a good picture, he just kept looking down.

Ethan and his dog

Evan and his dog

Ethan at Two Months...
Weight: 10 pounds, 14 ounces
Length: 22 inches
Head Circumference: Can't remember for him or Evan, but Ethan's growth rate spiked from our last appointment...the doctor asked if anyone in our family had a big head. HELLO?? Was she not looking at me. Jeff has always made fun of my "large cranium." More than likely it is genetics but we have to go back next month to have his head measured again to make sure the growth still isn't spiking.
I was worried with all of Ethan's reflux and spitting up that he wasn't gaining much weight. Our scale is broken, which I was using to get sort of an idea of his weight, so all I had to compare to was Evan, better known as "chunky monkey." He felt significantly lighter, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn he was almost 11 pounds. He is still wearing 0-3 month clothes, although I think he will outgrow them in length before he actually fills them out.
We switched him to sensitive formula just before Christmas to try and help with the spit up and it has helped a lot. He is still taking Zantac which I think helps some too. We have determined with our doctor that his crankiness is a combination of the reflux and him just plain getting mad at us during feeding. He takes his food very seriously and screams as soon as the bottle comes out to burp. He is happy as a lark as long as the bottle is in his his mouth and we're not messing with him.
We found out at our appointment that Ethan has Torticollis. I noticed he didn't like to move his head to the left no matter where he was...swing, bouncy seat, crib, car seat, etc. No matter what we did his head always went to the right. I thought he just preferred looking to the right. I didn't think much of it because Evan is the same way just not to the same degree as Ethan. I made a point to ask our doctor about it when we went in and she checked both boys and their range of motion in their necks. Evan was fine but Ethan had some trouble. We were referred to a physical therapist and now he will be going probably once a week along with doing lots of neck stretching exercises at home. The good news is we caught it early and it is nothing too serious as long as we are diligent about doing his exercises. So everything we do now is to the left...feeding, holding, sleeping, tons of tummy time (which he already hates, now it's loads more fun when combined with having him try to look to the left)...we are now in a constant battle with him. He is a stubborn little dude, just doesn't realize his mama is more stubborn than him and I win out EVERY TIME! I felt really guilty about his Torticollis, thinking it was something I had done...too much time in the bouncy seat (which helped with his reflux), not enough tummy time, etc., but thankfully it was nothing we did and more than likely caused by how he was positioned in my uterus.
He has become much more smiley over the last few weeks...still haven't been able to get it on camera.
He is not too fond of bath time, although he is getting better.
Still loves his pacifier and bouncy seat.
He is drooling a lot and has learned how to make bubbles...cutest thing ever.
Discovered his hands a few days ago and is completely fascinated by them.
He has rolled over a few times...once in his crib, but I think it was helped by the fact that his mattress is elevated some for his reflux, and then once during tummy time.
I am pretty sure his eyes are going to be brown...they have started to change and no longer look very blue.

Evan at Two Months...
Weight: 12 pounds, 6 ounces
Length: 22 inches
Like I said before, Evan is our little or I should say big "chunky monkey." It is amazing how the boys' personalities are so different even down to how they eat. Ethan eats so fast and gets so mad during burping, and Evan (mr. easy going) takes his time, sometimes falls asleep in the middle of eating, could care less if you burp him or not, and never spits up.
Evan still continues to be a super happy baby. He has his crying moments, but overall not a whole lot phases him. He is still content to just look around but does get mad if you are not holding him where he can see things.
He continues to be our little entertainer, making HILARIOUS faces and sounds. He is super smiley and loves to "talk" to you.
He loves the bath and kicks a ton in the water.
Still not in love with the pacifier...he'll take it, but doesn't have to have it. This is fine by me...having only one child to break of this habit instead of two is much better.
He is also drooling a lot and likes to make bubbles.
His eyes are definitely blue and I am convinced they have gotten lighter since he was born.
He has a clogged tear duct in his left eye, which we are watching until he turns one, usually it fixes itself. It makes for some lovely "pink-eye-ish" gunk to clean out of his eye.
Both Boys...
Are eating around 5 1/2 ounces (soon to be 6) every three hours during the day. We usually wake up around 6:00-7:00 and have our first bottle and then eat around 9:30/10:30, 1:00/1:30, 4:30, 7:30, and 10:30. They go to bed after the last feeding, usually around 11:00 and then don't get up until the morning. This is WONDERFUL because it is finally giving me a good chunk of sleep and I am able to function much better during the day. Hopefully in the not too distant future we will be able to drop the 10:30 feeding.
We are not on a great napping schedule. The boys sleep during the day but sometimes it is at random times. Now that our nighttime is becoming more of a routine I am starting to work on daytime.
I am so loving every minute of being a mommy...trying to take it all in remembering they are only this young for a very short time.
