Here are all the things I want to remember about Ethan at 4 months old...
He has become such a mover. As soon as you put him on his back he rolls to his stomach within 5 seconds. He is just starting to figure out rolling from his stomach to his back which makes him really happy. He gets so frustrated when he feels "stuck" on his tummy.
He has also figured out how to push up with his hands while on his tummy. It's amazing to me that just a few short weeks ago I was worried he would never get it because of his Torticollis.
Due to the rolling he now has to be strapped into his bouncy seat, swing, etc. If not, he does try to get out.
He sleeps exclusively on his tummy now, which has been giving me not a lot of sleep (the whole stomach sleeping made me really nervous at first). No more swaddling, and no more paci at night (I know I'm just SO mean). He gets tangled up when he starts to roll and the paci comes out making him mad that he doesn't have it anymore. It was just easier to get rid of it all.
He is my one who fights going to sleep. He will lay in his crib and cry anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on the night.
He loves to reach out and touch my face, lips, eyes, nose, hair, etc. when I am holding him...whatever he can get his hands on.
He is drinking 7 ounce bottles at each feeding.
He takes his moods to the extreme. If he is mad he is SUPER, CRAZY MAD and lets everyone know it and if he is happy he is the happiest baby anyone has ever seen...making faces, smiling, laughing. He can easily go from happy to mad in seconds...sometimes the smile will turn immediately into a frowny face cry.
If he is upset the best way to calm him down is to walk with him...forget rocking. It really amazes me that he knows the difference between movements. As soon as you stand up he'll stop crying. Hmmm, spoiled maybe just a bit??
His favorite toy is his elephant rattle.
He has really started to notice Evan during our "playtime" and will reach out and have his hands all over him, which Evan is not too crazy about.
He takes three naps a day (sometimes two)...usually 1 1/2 hours in the morning, 2-2 1/2 hours in the afternoon, and a little 30 minute cat nap thrown in between when needed.
He is still sleeping from 8:30/9:00ish at night to 7:30 in the morning.
When he wakes up in the morning you can't get him his bottle fast enough. Patience is clearly not one of his virtues.
And forget trying to burp him in the middle of his bottle, he still hates being interrupted.
He is wearing 3-6 month clothes.
He still loves the swing and will fall asleep in it from time to time.
