Here are all of the things I want to remember about Evan at 4 months...
He is starting to push up on his hands while on his tummy. He rolls from tummy to back but doesn't do it as often as he used to. It's as if he knows he can do it and since it's not a "new" thing he's totally over it.
He is fascinated with looking at himself in the mirror, which may be another reason why he doesn't roll as much...he is too preoccupied with himself. He just smiles and makes all kinds of faces at the "other baby."
He has just started sleeping semi-swaddled the last few days with his arms out but his body and legs wrapped. He likes his arms out and to be able to move a bit, so I tried not swaddling him during nap one day and that lasted for about 2 minutes. To him swaddling equals sleep and the semi-wrapped way seems to be what he likes the best.
He still sleeps on his back and could care less about trying to do it any other way.
He goes to sleep happy and wakes up happy.
I can lay him down and he is usually asleep within 5 minutes.
He is content pretty much anywhere you put him...on his back, on his tummy, in his bouncy seat, swing. Not a whole lot bothers him.
He is drinking 6 1/2 ounce bottles at each feeding. He went through a phase this month where he only would drink half his bottle...wanted nothing to do with the second half. He would smile and play, make sounds and be silly. It was very frustrating but since he is in the 95th percentile for weight his doctor said she wasn't too worried. She also said sometimes babies just go through phases where they want to eat more or less, which I'm guessing is true since he is now back to finishing off each bottle. His beautiful blond hair is getting longer and thicker. I'm not sure I will ever be able to style it though because it is super fine like Jeff's.
He is wearing 3-6 month clothes.
I could swear that he has bad dreams sometimes. I'm not sure if babies even do dream, but there are times every now and then that he will start to cry in the middle of sleeping and seem almost scared. I usually have to pick him up and hold him for a few minutes and then he's OK and can go back to sleep.
He loves to make sounds and "sing."
He definitely has more patience than his brother. He is my one that I can try clothes on to see if they will fit the boys, will sit through all of my picture taking (which is usually why I get more of him), sits quietly and sucks on his paci while waiting for me to make bottles, etc.
He is getting really good at sitting...he clearly can't do it on his own yet but is good when he gets a little support from the boppy or my leg.
He LOVES to stand...thinks he is so big and grown up. You can tell he gets so excited and proud of himself.
Just like Ethan he sleeps from 8:30/9:00ish at night until 7:30 in the morning. He also takes 1 1/2 hour naps in the morning and 2-2 1/2 hours in the afternoon (with some random little naps thrown in when needed). I try to keep both boys on the same sleep/feeding schedule to make my life easier.
He is still mesmerized by the TV but also loves to look at books with me.
