TEN MONTHS DOWN...TWO TO GO

I thought it might be a good idea to get to the boys' 10 month update before we hit 11 months...no sob story this month about how old they are getting and how I want to hit a pause button.  While all this is true, at the same time I am loving every new day and all of the new discoveries that come with it.  I can honestly say that I would not want to go back to the 0-3 month stage...except for this blog I barely remember the blur that was our life.  I like that we are now in our routine, we ALL get our much needed sleep...life is just fun.  I would have to say that right now is the best stage I have had with my two little monkeys.

Not a whole lot has changed since month 9...here are just a few things going on with both for this month...

Both are cruising all over the place along the walls and between furniture...they are starting to stand for a little bit on their own (Evan took a couple of steps in his crib last night before bed but he hasn't tried it again).

Talking non-stop...no official words from either one but it is a constant mama, dada, baba, gaga, nana from the two.

New foods we have tried...goldfish crackers, cheese, pancakes, small pieces of grapes, grilled cheese sandwiches...their favorites are anything with cheese (most definitely related to me, I could live on the stuff).  Ethan has even decided he will no longer eat cheerios and puffs when we go out to dinner and throws a fit if you don't have a goldfish for him in your hand...I do have to add he does not always get his way!

They are both FINALLY holding their own bottles...PIGS ARE FLYING PEOPLE!!  They sometimes still need a little help but are pretty much doing it on their own all of the time...it's so nice.

The biggest change for this last month was our schedule.  The boys were getting four bottles a day and with their three meals I felt like it was a constant eating fest with one always on top of the other.  So I changed things from 4 bottles to 3.  They are still getting the same 24 ounces it just makes life a little easier.  I no longer have to feed them at play group or have people at church do it on Sunday morning...so much nicer.  They have done really well with the change plus it gives Ethan less of a chance to spit up with one less feeding.

Ethan...

Has discovered he can suck his thumb...SERIOUSLY?!?  I can't believe he waited ten months to do it.  I am hoping it will make breaking him of his pacifier a lot easier.

His neck is doing great and we are only going once a month to physical therapy.  We went yesterday and his therapist gave me the option of discharging him or having her see him through walking.  I chose to have him stay with her through walking just in case he has any issues.  We don't go back for another 5 weeks and it could quite possibly be our last time!

He has discovered the art of throwing/dropping things out of his crib, over the gate at their door, from his high chair, from his car seat etc...lots of fun!

Evan...

His next two bottom teeth are coming in so he will soon be caught up with brother to have 8 teeth.

LOVES to dance and bounce and will raise his hands in the air when dancing.  He was the one who I always felt moving like crazy when we sang in church or if I had the radio on...he definitely loves music and loves to move...finally something to let us know he is actually related to me and not just a carbon copy of Jeff!

He has had issues with his clogged tear duct since he was born so at the boys' 9 month well check our pediatrician referred him to an opthamologist.  We had our appointment last week, which I thought was going to be just a consultation but the doctor ended up draining it right then...it worked out perfectly because I didn't have a chance to worry about the whole procedure.  We didn't watch it get done but did hear him crying from the other room...break my heart.  :(  I can only imagine...I know they wrapped him up in a towel so he couldn't flail his arms and squirm around when they messed with his eye.  Praise the Lord all is well now though...he has not had any drainage from his eye since.  The doctor said it was so thick it never would have cleared up on its own.  We could have waited two years and it still would have been clogged.  I am glad we didn't wait until he turned one because then he would have had to be put under anesthesia to have it done.

So that's about it for 10 months...And since getting a picture of the two of them together these days is next to nearly impossible...here are a few outtakes and individual shots of the babies at 10 months...

I thought pictures in some fall clothes would be fun because we are just a few weeks away from October (even though it doesn't feel like it).  They wanted nothing to do with my camera as usual...not sure what they were looking at.

Ethan going over the side of the chair...not to worry I did have him by the legs.  He is fearless, nothing stops him.  Notice how unafraid he is in this picture...no concern from him that he is going head first toward the ground, instead he is taking time out to chew on the ottoman.

Seeing Evan in this outfit just makes me wish it was in the 60's outside...one can only dream...

Ethan's big eyes...still not sure what color they are going to be.  At the moment they are very hazel-ish.  I thought they would turn brown but it hasn't happened yet.

And...it wouldn't be our blog without some pictures of us in just the diapers...

"That's it mom, we are done for today...no more pictures please!"

the boys are just so cute! out take pics are my favorite because you capture those crazy, funny, and sometimes even frustrating moments that you will be able to look back on and laugh at years from now! from my experience, even at 2.5 taking a picture of multiple children together still has gotten any easier!! maybe a year from now i'll be able to get a decent pic of a & b together...we'll see! lol! :)

They are precious. So glad that Evan's eye is fixed. One less thing for Mommy and Daddy to worry about. :)
