NOT SO FOODIE FRIDAY

So the whole cooking thing didn't work out this week as awesome as I thought it would.  I tried a homemade spaghetti sauce recipe and our house did not love it.  I usually just cook some ground beef, add a jar of Prego and that's about the extent of our spaghetti.  Jeff really likes it this way but I have always wanted to try a non-jar recipe.  The one we tried came from myrecipes and it was originally from Southern Living.  It had 5 stars, not a single bad review, and it was "test-kitchen" guaranteed {whatever that means}.  It should have been good right?  It was so the opposite and I was very disappointed.

I am certainly not sharing that recipe here, but since it is "Foodie Friday" I am going to share my favorite toffee recipe.  This is super easy and SO SO YUMMY!  Since I didn't actually make it this week I don't have any pictures but you'll just have to trust me that it looks as good as it tastes.

Toffee

1 cup sugar
1 cup sliced almonds {not slivered}
1 cup butter
3 Hershey bars {milk or dark, whatever you like}
1 cup chopped pecans

Place sugar, almonds, and butter in pan.  Mix and stir over high heat for approximately 6-8 minutes or until mixture becomes golden brown.  Pour onto cookie sheet, spread thin with a wooden spoon.  Break Hershey bars into squares and set on top of toffee.  When chocolate is shiny, spread to cover the toffee.  Sprinkle with chopped pecans.  Allow toffee to sit over night.  Break into pieces.  Eat and Enjoy!!  I dare you to not eat all of this in just one sitting...it is that good!

And...because a post is not a post without a picture...here is one of my little cutie drinking his milk.  Oh how he LOVES his milk.  When he is finished I usually catch him going after Evan's.

Happy Weekend!
