Hello 2014

So...2013 wasn't exactly the year of the blog.  Definitely a failure in keeping an update on our lives.  Hopefully 2014 will be much different...we have lots going on this year and I want all of our memories and happenings recorded. I love being able to go back and read about our lives.  Most of the time I can't remember what I did yesterday, so recording our life's happenings...not such a bad idea!

What 2014 holds for the Burchfields...

Ethan and Evan are starting T-Ball this spring...this will be their first time playing any kind of organized team sport and I'm so excited to watch them play.

The boys will both also be having surgery on their eyes sometime in the next couple of months.  Eye patching and wearing glasses have improved their alignment some but not enough to prevent surgery.  Their eyes had to reach perfection, which didn't happen, so surgery is the next step we take.

Our house is trucking along, although never fast enough. :)  The goal is to hopefully be in sometime near the end of April. This is a picture from last week...still quite a bit to do, but inside we started drywall today.  We're FINALLY getting walls!!  Cabinets go in the week after next...so excited for it to start feeling like a house.

The biggest and most exciting thing on the agenda for our family this year is that we are adopting a little girl from China. We are so excited and can't wait for Ellison Kate "Ellie" to be a part of our family.  The boys of course now think that all sisters come from China and every time we get on a plane that's where they think we're going! Every time they see princess or pink stuff in the stores they say we have to get it for Ellie! They are going to be fabulous big brothers and it's something I can't wait to see.

I will keep updates of our journey on the blog, which for awhile will not be a whole lot as we are getting all of the paperwork prepared for our dossier.

So...for the moment that's what we have coming up in 2014.  Hopefully many, many more updates on our life coming soon!
