Oh this child...once he started talking he has never stopped. He literally talks ALL. OF. THE. TIME. Even while going to sleep at night we can hear him talking to himself. I am amazed everyday at some of the things he says and words he knows. Here are just a few things overheard recently coming out of the little dude's mouth...
Everything time related is "last night" whether it really happened last night or a week ago, 5 minutes ago, 2 days ago, etc. Some examples...When dropping off Jeff at work after lunch, Ethan always says while driving home "we see daddy last night." He has talked about the zoo a lot after we went last week and it usually starts with "we go to the zoo with Allie and Emmie last night." He fell in the dirt on the zoo playground and still talks about how he "fell in the dirt last night." Five minutes after finishing dinner a few nights ago he told me "we eat spaghetti last night."
Most phrases involve "I need" as in "I need more ice cream" "I need more crackers" "I need to watch cars" "I need mama's phone" {we are really trying to work on using nice words and saying please but stubborn boy really believes he NEEDS lots of things}
"I do it myself" is also a common phrase especially if it involves getting in his car seat or anything to do with eating. He doesn't want any help at all from anyone.
Overheard while in the Baylor Bookstore as he was carrying around a stuffed Bruiser Bear..."I love you Baylor Bear."
I found a page torn out of one of our books and asked Ethan what happened. I asked if he had torn it out and his response..."Oh yes I did do it, I remember." {didn't even know he knew the word remember}
I often overhear him say to Evan "why you do that." I'm pretty sure it's a phrase he has heard a few times from me.
Lots of things are just "so cute." "McQueen, you so cute...Puppies, you so cute...Baylor Bear, you so cute." About random things..."it's so cute mama."
I know there are so many more things he says and I try to remember to write them down everyday so I won't forget years from now. Stay tuned for more crazy things coming from the mouth of my funny little man.
