Utensil Time

Eating time at our house has become quite a fun time all because of one little addition...the FORK!  Who knew one little eating utensil could bring such entertainment!! We are pretty good with the spoon but hadn't ventured to using the fork that much.  Really it is my fault because I hadn't bought the E's their own kid sized ones yet.  The plastic ones we had were not even worth the money spent on them...they didn't work at all at picking up food.  Also, I never really thought about giving them just a regular fork to use...I thought they were too big and hard for them...boy was I wrong {which I should have known b/c they are always trying to grab ours and use them when we are out to eat}.

While Jeff and I were gone in Colorado the boys practiced a lot with our "grown up" forks and then had fun with new kid size ones too.

They just look so grown up to me practicing with such concentration.

They are so proud of themselves trying to stab each piece of food putting it in their mouth and clapping after every bite...cutest thing ever!  My favorite is watching them in the morning at breakfast as they get their pancakes/waffles/french toast and then ever so carefully "dip dip dip" {as they say} it in the syrup before eating.

With all of this practice it doesn't mean we still don't LOVE eating with our fingers from time to time...

Food...

whether with a fork or by the fingers as long as it gets to the mouth we're good to go!
