On Saturday Jeff's dad came to town for the day to hang out. Instead of just staying around the house we decided to go to the fair. It was the last day to be open and I had been wanting to take the boys all week. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't all too great of an experience. I think because we go every year to the Houston Fair and Rodeo {which is awesome and we love} the bar is set pretty high. Plus it was stinkin' hot and just seemed super dirty...which I was probably more aware of because of Evan's asthma. Dust, smoke, dirt, animals, etc. seem to be on my constant radar now.
It wasn't a complete disaster of a day...the boys found the tractors which they LOVED.
They had fun looking at the animals.
We walked around and looked at the games and rides...because it was so hot and we were all getting tired we decided not to do rides this year.
The best part about the day...the funnel cake. Wouldn't you know, the best part would have something to do with food. Give our hot, tired, cranky children {and the mama and daddy}a yummy treat and you are good to go.
I had to get a family picture. I didn't care how tired, sweaty, cranky we all were...I wanted a picture. Can you tell Evan was thrilled?!? Of course they cooperated when we took one with grandpa...not for mama of course, but we're good with grandpa...
So...that was our exciting day...I think it is safe to say it will be a good long while before we ever go back to the HOT Fair and Rodeo again.
