Halloween was so fun this year. The boys totally understood what it was all about thanks to a Jake and the Neverland Pirates episode where they go trick-or-treating. All week it was all they could talk about. They couldn't wait to go get candy with their "halloween pumpkin buckets."
The Schneiders got the boys pirate costumes for their upcoming birthday to wear for Halloween and then to have for dress up around the house. We did a little trial run on Tuesday to see how they fit and looked. Ethan was SOOO excited and couldn't get the costume on fast enough. He couldn't wait to be "Jake." I got a ton of pictures of him running around the house saying "yo ho, a pirates life for me."
Evan took a little while to warm up to the whole costume idea. The headband was okay for him, the costume...not so much. All afternoon I thought we'd be having a naked pirate for Halloween. I was able to sneak in a few pictures of him, but not nearly as many as Ethan. The picture below he was in the middle of saying "no pictures." Finally by dinner he was ready to be a dressed pirate and yesterday he was just as excited as Ethan to get his costume on to go trick-or-treating.
Yesterday I tried getting a few pictures of the boys on the front porch before heading over to the Schneiders for dinner and to trick-or-treat in their neighborhood. Not a single one with them looking and smiling at me but can you really blame them? They could barely sit still and couldn't stop talking about all of the candy they were going to get!
This is the second year we have trick-or-treated with the Schneider clan and it's quickly becoming a tradition. The kiddos all had a blast together. We ate yummy chili, had some pumpkin dessert and then attempted a few group pictures before heading out to all of the houses. Here are the many attempts...
This might be the best one we took.
Pretty sure this is my favorite pic from the night...leaf up the nose...good times!
Allie's face says it all...they were done and ready to go get candy.
On their way with swords and buckets in hand.
Running to the next house...Ethan's favorite phrase of the night..."hey I'm done here, I want to go to a other one house."
Such good friends...oh, how they love each other.
Can't wait for next year!
