When I look at all of the pictures in this post it amazes me how old Evan looks...not so itty bitty babyish anymore. Here is everything about Evan and where he is at 6 months old...Wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes. He is in 6 month sleepers but is fixing to move to the 9 month size...he is just getting too long for the ones we are in. He wore a pair of 12 month shorts today, they were a little loose but still wearable. It really depends on the maker what size he wears...some 6-9 month stuff is big on him and other stuff I wonder what 6-9 month old baby can actually wear the clothes. We have some 9 month size shorts from Target and they are even a little tight on Ethan.
He is in size 3 diapers.
He is still drinking about 7 1/2 ounces at each feeding four times a day. Sometimes he doesn't finish his last bottle at night because it is so close to when we eat dinner.
He loves eating...took to it right away. So far we have tried rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, and apples. His favorite is the apples and he is not too fond of the squash. Surprisingly we had no trouble with the peas. I thought he would spit it all back out (I tried it and I definitely would) but he ate it right up.
He fake coughs ALL OF THE TIME and thinks he is so hilarious. As soon as you look at him after he coughs he breaks into the biggest grin.He also fake chokes which mama thinks is not so hilarious. He did it first while we were eating one night which freaked me out, but I thought better of it because seriously how can you choke on pureed baby food? He then smiled with the food all in his mouth...really not so funny! He does it now all the time while playing so I know it is definitely not the food.
Still thinks it is funny to put his lips together and make noise while "spitting."
He is officially sitting on his own. It depends on the mood and the moment how long he will do it for. Sometimes it is for a while and other times he just topples over and goes to his tummy to play.He is rocking on all fours but not all of the time. I don't think crawling will be for a while though. He is still pretty content wherever I put him. At the moment he is going backwards while up on his hands and knees.
He will definitely roll across the room if he wants to get somewhere or get to something.
His eyes are still blue...I think they have actually gotten a little lighter...most definitely will not be changing to any other color.
He will hold his bottle about half of the time. Sometimes he will start out holding it and get tired and other times he will finish while holding it, which I think is easier for him because it isn't as full/heavy. If he is not holding the bottle he is usually pulling on his shirt. No teeth yet and none on the way that I can tell.
His laugh cracks me up. It's almost as if he has to think about it first before he starts laughing.
He is growing like a weed. I'm not sure how much he weighs (will find out on Wednesday) but he is getting super heavy. He goes to bed around 8:00...our routine is bath (on bath nights), jammies, bottle, book, and bed. He wakes up smiley and happy between 7:00-7:30.
He is a better morning napper than afternoon napper...sometimes cries a lot before sleeping in the afternoon. I'm thinking he will drop from two naps to one much sooner than Ethan.
He loves all of our toys (donated to us by Cathy and the girls) but is fascinated even more by the computer and my phone when I have them out. His favorite toys...his butterfly, crinkle book, and anything that lights up and makes noise.
